Why Was This Project Selected?
Claudette Beazer has been part of the heart of BFM almost from the very beginning. When we first began our ministry on Barbuda, Claudette heard about us and sought us out. We were looking to build relationships with the people of Barbuda, and Claudette pursued a relationship with us!
When BFM began bringing mission teams to the island, we needed someone to cook for our teams, and Claudette was among the first to step up. For nearly a decade now, she has lovingly fed hundreds of team members, preparing delicious meals with her most important ingredient, LOVE.
But somewhere along the way, Claudette became so much more than our chef.
She became family.
Claudette is like a daughter to Donnie and I. She has become family to the hundreds of team members who have come through the BFM Team Home, and today she also serves as our BFM Manager on island. As much as we have been blessed to pour into Claudette and her family over the years, the truth is, she has poured into us so much more.
A Dream Fulfilled
Years ago, Claudette began scraping and saving every penny she could toward a dream of someday having a beautiful home of her own. BFM came alongside her to help make that dream a reality, and today we are overjoyed to say:
CLAUDETTE’S HOUSE IS COMPLETE!
What once appeared on this website as a Project in Need is now a testimony of what God can do through the generosity of His people.
As you can see from the pictures, her home is beautiful, beyond what Claudette could have ever dreamed, hoped for, or asked for. From the plastering and painting, to the kitchen, plumbing, electrical work, porches, furnishings and countless finishing details, what was once a list of needs has become a finished home.
And the blessings in Claudette’s life have gone far beyond the walls of this beautiful house. Over the years, we have watched God answer prayers that once seemed impossible, bringing healing and restoration to her marriage and family. Her home stands today as more than a completed BFM project. It is a testimony to the faithfulness of God.
The Impact
When we first selected Claudette’s house as a BFM project, we wrote that its greatest potential impact on the community was one word:
HOPE.
Today, we believe that even more.
This home is proof that people are not forgotten. It is proof that circumstances can change. It is proof of what can happen when people give, serve, pray and come alongside one another.
And most importantly, it is a reminder that God sees. God provides. God restores. And God is faithful.
